History[]
Origin[]
The Darkness originally lived in another dimension, only to be summoned by the Ancients after they created what they named the Dark Rift Engine. This caused the Darkness to wreak havoc across the Skylands, afterwards the Ancients went to create the Core of Light to repel the Darkness. A few years later, the Spell Punks did try to restore the Darkness to what it once was, only for the Skylanders to stop it from consuming the Skylands.
Skylanders[]
The Darkness made its first appearance in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, where it went to serve under Kaos and consume the Skylands after he destroyed the Core of Light. The Skylanders, however went to recreate the Core of Light and shunned the Darkness away.
The Darkness appears in the 3DS version of Skylanders: Trap Team, where it appears in the Midnight Museum to consume the area and summon Chompies to fight against the Skylanders, only to fail.
The Darkness returned in Skylanders: SuperChargers, where Kaos went to create the Sky-Eater to feed the Darkness, causing it to show it's intelligence. The Darkness went to turn Kaos against Glumshanks and continued to use him so that he can become stronger by feeding off of the magic of Skylands. After Kaos betrayed the Darkness and tried to send him back to his own dimension, the Skylanders went to fight against him and his minions known as the Shadow Guardian. The Darkness was defeated after this.
