The Spy is one of the playable characters in the Team Fortress series.

History[]

Team Fortress[]

The Spy was born in France, only to go to America and had a child with a woman who already had eight sons.

In Team Fortress 2, Spy and eight other mercenaries were hired by Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann to fight each other in what is known as the Gravel Wars.

In Meet the Soldier, Soldier defeated a BLU Spy and later used that BLU Spy's head as a trophy.

In Meet the Demoman, a BLU Spy, along with a BLU Soldier, BLU Sniper, BLU Medic and a BLU Heavy went to chase down the Demoman, only to die by his sticky bombs.

In Meet the Sniper, a BLU Spy went to fight against the Sniper, only to die by the Sniper's blade.

The Spy was mentioned in the webcomic WAR! Comic, where the Administrator tried to warn the BLU Team about before he turned into the BLU Scout.

In Meet the Spy, the Spy disguised himself as a BLU Scout, only to listen with the BLU Heavy and BLU Soldier about what the BLU Spy had to say. After seeing the BLU Spy be shot by friendly fire, the Spy went to eliminate the BLU Soldier and Heavy. The Spy later looked at the photos that the BLU Spy had and went to remember the time he had with the woman that he met possibly a decade ago.

The Spy made a cameo appearance in Meet the Medic, where he was seen with the rest of the team, waiting for Medic to operate on him.

In Meet the Pyro, the Spy, along with the Heavy and Scout went to discuss there thoughts of the Pyro to the Director. The Pyro may have also burned a BLU Spy alive.

In Expiration Date, Spy mocked Scout and after hearing from both Medic and Engineer that the team might be getting tumors, he went to ask the Scout to collect everyone's dying wish. Spy went to check on the dying wishes, only to see that Scout placed nothing but scrap paper in the bucket holding the wishes, he later gave Soldier the bucket and went back to his room. Scout later went to apologies to the Spy, leading to Spy to help him to get a date with Miss Pauling. The Spy went to train Scout with the rest of the team until they were near the last hours. Spy later went to help the team to fight against a Giant Breed Monster and later headed back to his home.

In the webcomic The Insult That Made a "Jarate Master" Out of Sniper, a BLU Sniper went to insult both Sniper and Scout, only to later leave. The Next day, the BLU Spy was attacked by the Sniper with his Jarate jar. This caused the subwar known as the Sniper vs. Spy War, although it is unknown who won this subwar.

In the webcomic Bombinomicon, After seeing Soldier with some children, the Spy gave the children whatever was inside his pocket.

In the webcomic A Smissmas Story, Spy, along with Scout and Soldier were on trial for setting off a bomb, the judge sent the three to community service, leaving to Spy to supervise the other two. Spy later gave a child by the name of Little Jack an ice shard to murder Old Nick, were he went off to look for the news broadcasters to show that Little Jack, Scout and Soldier murdered Old Nick. Spy later went to speak with Little Jack and left with Scout and Soldier.

In the webcomic A Fate Worse Than Chess, Spy and the rest of the mercenaries were fired and rehired by Saxton Hale to fight against the Machines.

Both Spy and Scout went to listen to Soldier about how he annoyed Merasmus once again in the webcomic Doom-Mates.

In the webcomic Shadow Boxers, Spy was seen planing their next defense against the Machines, only to later head home thinking that he might defend a hat factory the next day.

In the webcomic Death of a Salesbot, Spy and the rest of the mercenaries were growing fed up of fighting the Machines and becoming rich. After fighting against a second wave of Machines, Spy saw a futuristic version of the Engineer and a floating Pyro head trying to warn them and left.

Spy appears in the webcomic Blood Money, where he, Scout, Sniper and Soldier went to help Merasmus with his carnival.

In the webcomic Gargoyles & Gravel, Spy was seen with the rest of the mercenaries, only to speak to Merasmus after seeing him argue with Soldier. The Mercenaries decided to help the wizard out of symphony and boredom.

The Spy made a cameo appearance in the webcomic Ring of Fired, where he was seen on a newspaper with Scout, going on trial. Miss Pauling also mentioned him to Soldier, Demoman and Pyro.

Spy was originally planning to head to France, only for Scout to ask him for a favor, while he hesitated to help he went to Tuefort only to be arrested with the Scout. In the webcomic Unhappy Returns, Both Spy and Scout are seen in jail, where Spy was looking for something to eat inside his false teeth and eliminated Joey Murders. Spy later went to shave after going into a fight with the Scout. Spy later went to the court and planned to murder everyone until Soldier appeared, leading to the three and Demoman to be hung. Miss Pauling later appeared to help the mercenaries and told the residents of Tuefort to head to the library.

A vision of the Spy appeared in the webcomic A Cold Day in Hell, where one of Heavy's sisters was imagining. Another vision of the Spy appeared in one of Scout's dreams, where he thought that the Spy was his dad. The real Spy went with Miss Pauling and the Demoman to head to Australia.

In the webcomic Blood in the Water, Spy went to meet up with Soldier and Zhanna, only to later ask the the Australian Navy for a submarine. Spy and the rest of the team went to the lost city of New Zealand, only to later be captured by the Team Fortress Classic Mercenaries.

The Spy appears in the webcomic Catch-Up, where Saxton Hale was telling the reader about the events that happened in the Team Fortress universe.

In the webcomic Old Wounds, an imprisoned Spy went to discuss the situation to Miss Pauling until they saw who they thought was Heavy, only to see him turn into the TFC Spy after the TFC Demoman appeared. TF2 Spy chocked the TFC Demoman after both Soldier and Zhanna barged through. Spy and Miss Pauling later went to hear what Grey Mann has to say just before he dies. Spy later went with the rest of the Mercenaries to try and escape, only to be captured by vampiric robots.

In the webcomic The Naked and the Dead, Spy disguised himself as the TFC Engineer, only to be shot in the leg by the TFC Sniper. Both Spy and the TFC Sniper had a conversation until the TF2 Sniper eliminated his TFC counterpart. Both Spy and Sniper later walked out of the building to regroup with the team, only to see a dying Scout. Spy disguised himself as Tom Jones to tell Scout that he was proud of him and left with Sniper, only to see Scout recover. Spy, Sniper and Scout joined back up with the rest of the mercenaries to see the TFC Heavy die and the Spy complementing Miss Pauling for insulting a dying person.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed[]

The Spy, along with the Heavy and the Pyro appear in Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed, where the Spy would race around in a boat based off of his revolver against characters like Sonic the Hedgehog and NiGHTS.

  • An inside joke in Team Fortress 2 involving the Spy is known as the Spy Crab.
  • It was once theorized that Spy was the Scout's father, this was proven true in the comic The Naked and the Dead.
  • Both Spy and the Engineer were regarded as ingame rivals, however this may have changed after the Sniper vs. Spy update.
  • Spy is considered to be the most sane out off all of the mercenaries.
  • Spy makes a cameo appearance in the video game Poker Night: At the Inventory, as one of the usable cards.
