The Sparks Family is a recurring group in the Twisted Metal series.
History[]
Past[]
The Sparks Family was a basic suburban family seen in Los Angeles with Calypso's Parents raising both Calypso and his younger sister.
Twisted Metal[]
The Sparks Family was seen in the Twisted Metal comic book, where when Calypso when he was twelve and went by the name William Sparks, was collecting roadkill, only for him to accidentally use the family's car to murder his own sister. Feeling guilty about what he did, Calypso was feeling a bit suicidal and also caused the death of his own parents too. A bit afterwards, Calypso went to work in a demolition derby contest, where he was a mechanic that worked under a guy called Al, who later shot William Sparks and gave him the nickname Calypso. Calypso later became a master of demolition derbies himself, where he later married a woman called Joanie Sparks and had a daughter known as Krista Sparks. Though at one point, Joanie died and both both Calypso and Krista suffered in a car accident. Calypso went to outrun a demon known as Minion until he reached Satan. Calypso later made a deal with Satan to make a tournament to bring decent drivers to hell. After that, Calypso began to work on a new tournament known as Twisted Metal, or as some call it High Octain, where he did the contest for ten years, with Minion winning the ninth year.
Calypso was first seen in the 1995 version of Twisted Metal, where he was doing the tenth Twisted Metal contest and would wiling give almost all contestants that won what they want.
Calypso also appeared in Twisted Metal 2: World Tour, where he went to do the eleventh Twisted Metal contest, only to see a robotic replica of his own daughter known as Krista Sparks also enter the contest. However, Krista's revived body would explode if came too close to Calypso due to what the Los Angeles Police Department placed inside of her new robotic form.
The Sparks Family did return in Twisted Metal: Head-On, where Calypso continued to run his Twisted Metal contests, only for him to also summon the ghost of his daughter, Krista Sparks to also compete in the contest in hopes to revive her. But when Krista when the contest, she instead wished the car accident never happened, Calypso later used this wish to revive his daughter, only to make her set in a coma, where it is unknown if she'll ever wake up or not.
It is currently unknown what happened to the Sparks Family after this.
