Soldier, real last name being Doe, is one of the playable characters in Team Fortress 2.

History[]

Team Fortress[]

Mister Doe went to join the army, but was redesigned because of his mental illness. He than bought a plane ticket and went to fight against some Nazis, only to be told that the war was over and so went back home. He was also the roommate of Merasmus for a long while.

In Team Fortress 2, the Soldier and eight other mercenaries went to fight in the long running gravel wars under the orders of both Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann.

A BLU Soldier makes a cameo appearance in Meet the Heavy, where he went to help capture the point, only to die in battle.

In Meet the Soldier, the Soldier was seen blowing away the BLU Team by taking down a BLU Pyro, Heavy and Demoman. He also helped the RED Team to capture the final point, while also taking down a BLU Medic and Spy. Soldier would later collect eight heads of fallen members of the BLU Team and went ti discuss to them about his views of battle, Sun Tzu and how Zoos and farms were made.

A BLU Soldier makes a cameo appearance in Meet the Engineer, where he went to fight against the Engineer, only to die by a sentry.

In Meet the Demoman, Soldier was seen ready to battle. A BLU Soldier would later go off to chase down the Demoman with a BLU Heavy, Medic, Spy and Sniper, only to die by the hands of the Demoman.

A BLU Soldier makes a cameo appearance in Meet the Scout, where he went to chase down the Scout, only to be ran over by a train.

A BLU Soldier makes a cameo appearance in Meet the Sniper, where the Sniper shot him in the head and moved on to the next target.

In Meet the Spy, a BLU Soldier went to check on the briefcase, along with a BLU Heavy and Spy. Soldier heard what Spy had to say about his counterpart, only to murder him and in turn, both he and Heavy was murdered by the RED Spy, disguised as the BLU Scout.

In Meet the Medic, an army of BLU Soldiers went to chase down both the Scout and the Demoman, only for the Heavy and the Medic to help take them down and defeat the army of BLU Soldiers. the RED Soldier was later seen to receive the uberheart from the Medic.

In Meet the Pyro, the Pyro was seen burning and eliminating the entire BLU Team, one of witch was a BLU Soldier.

In the webcomic Meet the Director, the Soldier asked the Director about any books about Sun Tzu and later showed him his head collection. A bit later Soldier showed the rest of the mercenaries what he received in the mail, being a head that he collected in battle. The Administrator went to warn the team and Soldier possibly went back home after this.

In Expiration Date, Soldier showed Ms. Pauling a briefcase and later left the van. Soldier than went to about Scout after hearing that they can no longer teleport bread, only for the Engineer to tell him that he can and that the teleportation might be giving the team tumors. Soldier went to teleport as much bread as he could and showed up to Spy's bucket announcement, only to take the bucket. Soldier was later seen when both the Medic and Engineer told them that they were not getting the tumors and the teleportation was just mutating bread. Soldier than told everyone that he was teleporting the bread and later went to fight against the bread monster. He later told Scout that they were going to live forever and Medic went to correct him. Soldier possibly went back home after this.

A BLU Soldier and a BLU Scout can be heard being defeated possibly by the Heavy in Meet the Sandvich.

In the webcomic WAR! Comic, the BLU Soldier and the RED Demoman became friends and often went to the gun show as well as fought against the police together. The Administrator later sent out a messenger to convince the Soldier to fight against the Demoman. This caused the Soldier vs. Demoman sub-war and fortunately the Soldier won. Although it is believed that both the Soldier and Demoman faked the war for new weapons.

In the webcomic A Visual History, Soldier, Scout and Heavy went to look for a way to repair their weapons. They found a shot and got new equipment.

In the webcomic Grordbort's Crash, Soldier was speaking to three plaques of wood in shaped as possible soldiers that the Soldier may have seen at least once and later saw a ship crash. Soldier later took the weapons from the crash as his own.

In the webcomic Bombinonicon, Soldier brought three children to the team's hideout and later overheard the Demoman speak about Merasmus and insulting him, only for the wizard to appear causing the two to fight and making Merasmus summon Monoculus to fight the team, while he was fighting off the Soldier.

In the webcomic A Smissmas Story, Soldier somehow convinced Merasmus to make him into a lawyer and so went to defend Spy and Scout, only to be sent on community service. Soldier became a mall Santa and shaved off the hair of a child known as Little Jack and went to fight against the child's dad, only to later fight against Old Nick with Scout, only for the child to murder Old Nick and Spy went to show the news casters the heroics of Soldier, Scout and Little Jack.

In the webcomic Blood Money, Merasmus went to ask Soldier, Scout, Spy and Sniper for some help to give souls to for his theme park.

In the webcomic Doom-Mates, Soldier returned to Mersamus' castle months after being kicked out. He later sent all the sour-cream across the castle and unintentionally brought all of the raccoons from the badlands to the castle. When Mersamus returned home he saw what Soldier did and was fined by a park ranger and evicted from his castle. This caused him to die and his ghost had an argument with Soldier, this caused another battle between Merasmus and his mystical forces and the team of mercenaries as Soldier explained to both Spy and Scout.

In the webcomic Grave Matters, Soldier was visited by the ghosts of both Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann as they wanted to see a lawyer to see who lived the longest. Soldier mentioned that neither one of them is truly dead and caused the two to hire the mercenaries for one last job to send each other to hell.

In the webcomic A Fate Worse Than Chess, Soldier and the rest of the mercenaries were fired from fighting each other and were rehired by Saxton Hale to fight against the Machines.

In the webcomic Shadow Boxxers, Soldier was seen with the rest of the mercenaries and Ms. Pauling to discuss their next defense against the Machines. Soldier mentioned where they might strike next, leading to Ms. Pauling to question him about this and the rest of the team to be susceptible about him. Soldier later showed Ms. Pauling his disguise and so went with her and Heavy to Grey Mann's announcements to his Machines until he showed off the Mecha-Engineer, causing the three to leave.

In the webcomic Death of a Salesbot, Soldier went to eat a burger made of money, only to later fight against an army of Machines. Soldier and the rest of the team later saw the Engineer from the future and a floating Pyro head. Because of this, Soldier went to discuss with the Future Engineer who the president would be and finds out that it was a dog. After Future Engineer and the floating Pyro head left, Soldier opened the Machines' crate.

In the webcomic Gargoyles & Gravel, Soldier was playing a tabletop with Ms. Pauling, Scout and Heavy, with Soldier often making everyone restart the game over and over again. Merasmus later showed up to challenge the mercenaries, only to be declined. The team later accepted his challenge due to a mixture of pity and boredom.

In the webcomic Ring of Fired, after being fired, Soldier went to break Scout's arms and later went to show old women homes of celebrities, only to show them farms. After hearing one of them about a refund, Soldier went to run with them following to who them famous musician until he went in the home of Tome Jones and snapped his neck. Soldier later saw Mersamus, only for the wizard to call the police. Ms. Pauling, disguised as a policeman went to bring Soldier with her to look for the rest of the team. Both Ms. Pauling and Soldier later recruited Pyro and Demoman and saw both Spy and Scout in a news paper.

In the webcomic Unhappy Returns, Soldier and Demoman went to look for Scout and Spy, only for Soldier to blow their cover after hearing that Scout does not even considers Soldier to be a real soldier. The mayor of Tuefort later went to hang all four of the mercenaries until Ms. Pauling appeared and told the entire town to go to the library. Ms. Pauling later told the mercenaries that the town became 'led poisoned idiots' after chemicals from the mill they once fought over went into the water supply. Soldier questioned it this, implying that he may of had also been led poisoned.

In the webcomic A Cold Day in Hell, Soldier, along with Scout and Pyro went to visit Heavy's mother. The three later went into the snowy wasteland to look for Heavy, only to find the crashed ship of Amilia Airhart and later went to fight against three bears, with Soldier fighting them naked and covered in honey. The three later saw Heavy fight against a large mother bear. After heading back to Heavy's mother's home, Soldier went to consider his moral choice of weather or not to eat some soup and later met Zhanna to spend some time with. This caused the to began their relationship and ate bear meat with Heavy and his family. Soldier, Heavy, Scout, Pyro and Zhanna later went to Australia.

Soldier appears in the webcomic Catch-Up, with the rest of the mercenaries where Saxton Hale is explaining to the reader about the events that has happened in the Team Fortress universe.

In the webcomic Blood in the Water, Soldier and Zhanna were planning to break into the Australian Navy to steal a submarine, only for the Spy to appear and brought the two to the navy and asked for one of their submarines. Both Soldier and Zhanna went to join the rest of the team to visit the lost city of New Zealand and met Sniper's real parents, only to see them leave and was captured by the Team Fortress Classic Mercenaries.

In the webcomic Old Wounds, Soldier was being tortured by the TFC Pyro, only for Zhanna to murder the TFC Pyro. The two than brought Grey Mann to see Ms. Pauling but not before helping to down the TFC Spy and TFC Demoman. Soldier, Zhanna, Ms. Pauling, Spy, Pyro and Demoman later went to escape the island, only to fight against an army of vampiric robots.

In the webcomic The Naked and the Dead, Soldier was brought back to life by Medic and told Heavy, that his is going to be a granddad. Soldier, Zhanna, Ms. Pauling, Demoman, Heavy and Scout later went to fight against what was left of the Machines. Soldier and Zhanna later took their clothes off and covered themselves in honey to fight against the Machines, only to hear Zhanna call out Ms. Pauling for thinking that she was interested in Soldier. Soldier later saw naked Sniper and Spy with Scout. Soldier and Zhanna later put their clothes back on to join the rest of the team to see the TFC Heavy die.

  • A running gag in the Team Fortress comics is Soldier often irritating Merasmus, this was even influence by the game he came from.
  • Soldier has been shown in every video, with the exception of Meet the Sandvich, where a BLU Soldier has only been voiced.
