Sokka and his younger sister Katara were two members of what was left of the Southern Water Tribe, because of this Sokka considered himself to be the last defense for the Tribe.
Sokka made his first appearance in the episode The Boy in the Iceberg, where he and his sister was fishing, only to insult her and discovered a boy in the iceberg and a bison known as Aang and Appa. Due to being sceptial at the time, Sokka hassitant to trust Aang, however, brought him to his small village with his sister. Sokka later went to train the younger generation of the way of the warrior, only to let them go to have a potty break.
