Organization XIII are recurring characters in the Kingdom Hearts series.

History

Kingdom Hearts

Organization XIII was founded by the Nobodies of Ansem the Wise's eight appearances, who later recruited six more members shortly afterwords.

The Organization was first alluded too in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, where two small groups of them were out to control Sora and Riku. The first was Marluxia and Larxene trying to control Sora with the help of Naminé as well as Axel, who was sent to take out the traitors, however they failed with Axel eliminating Vexen but not before he created the Riku Replica. The second group being Zexion and Lexaeus fell to Riku's hands, while he was trying to rid himself off Ansem the Seeker of Darkness with the help of King Mickey and DiZ.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, it showed the life of a boy known as Roxas who worked with the Organization to fight off the Heartless while hanging out with his two friends known as Axel and Xion. Both Roxas and Xion went on missions by Saïx with other members, these mainly were Demyx, Luxord and Xigbar. After Xion left the Organzation to fight against Roxas, Roxas went to also defect and tried to free Kingdom Hearts, only to fight and be defeated by Riku.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Axel was sent by the Organization to look for Roxas, only to later defect. The remaining members of the Organization went to fight against Sora, Donald and Goofy while also summoning the Heartless and Nobodies to trick them to complete their artifical Kingdom Hearts. The remaining Organization members also went to other worlds to do some research for their leader Xemnas. They later went to fight against Sora, Donald, Goofy and Riku on their homeworld, only to be defeated by their hands.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance, Young Xehanort appeared to both Sora and Riku during their mark of mastery exam to fight against them and went to recreat Organization XIII, by bringing back Xemnas, Ansem the Seeker of Darkness, Xigbar and Saïx. Master Xehanort later appeared after possessing his younger self to fight against Riku and has a consisation with King Mickey, only for him and his eleven other selves to disappear.

In Kingdom Hearts III, The Organization members went to various worlds to speak to Sora or to cause havoc to summon the Heartless, Nobodies or Unversed. Two members of the Real Organization XIII being Demyx and Vexen defected after becoming backup members. The Real Organization XIII was later seen in the Keyblade Graveyard where they went to fight against the Gaurdians of Light and lost. The Nobodie members possably turned back to their original selves afterwards.

In Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, Organization XIII was mention and Axel, Roxas and Xion are seen fighting against the Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed and Nightmare Dream Eaters.

Super Smash Bros.

Members of both the original Organization XIII and the Real Organization XIII appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Master Xehanort, Xemnas, Ansem the Seeker of Darkness, Saïx and Vanitas appear as murals in the Hollow Bastion Stage as parts of the Station of Awakening. Axel, Xion and Roxas are also Spirits that would possesse fighters such as Robin, Roy and Sora.

The original members of the Organization; the first eight members where once the lab assistants of Ansem the Wise, members nine-to-twelve where recited by the Organization after it was created and of course members thirteen and fourteen where meant to control Sora for various reasons.

The XIII Seekers of Darkness was a backup plan and the original reason why the Organization XIII exists; To create 13 forms controlled by Xehanort and to use the Princesses of Heart to recreate the X-Blade. The original order was not known until the Re:MIND DLC was released.
