The Modukuns where once a superior race on Oddworld, until the Glukkons made the Modukuns their slaves. Some however have escaped to create tribes.
In Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and it's remake Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, a Modukun known as Abe saw the plans of a Glukkon known as Molluck the Glukkon and ran away, with or without saving some of the other Modukuns until he escped Rapture Farms. He later fell off a clift and was revived by Big Face, who sent him on a quest to go through the caves of Scabs and the mountains of Paramites to gain two tatoos that gave him the power to turn into a Demigod. After gaining his new power, Abe went back to Rapture Farms to free the remaining Mudokons as well as take down the Glukkons and the Sligs and was later took by to Sligs to hang by a saw with Mullock watching. If Abe saves fifty or more Mudokons, the freed Mudokons went to help Abe by summoning a lightning storm to take down the Slig and Mullock, letting Abe head back to the village and was praised for his actions. Altough if Abe did not save the right amount of Mudokons, they would leave him to die and become the new meat product.
In Oddworld: Abe's Exoduce and it's remake Oddworld: Soulstorm, Abe saw a vision from Three Weirdos to tell him to visit another factory with other Mudokons. Their Abe went to free the Mudokons again until he and his crew found a dispencer, leading to his fellow Mudokons to grow ill due to the Brew. Abe went to free more of the Mudokons and went to the old bariual grounds of his people, their he met the Three Weirdos who gave him a chest tatoo and the ability to heal ill Mudokons. Abe went to heal his crew, then went on a train ride to go further into the factory.
Abe jumped off of the train after seeing a poster for Mudokonpops, only to travel further into the factory to free more of the Mudokons as well as to possesse three Glukkons to break the factory down. He than went to see that the Glukkons were using not just Mudokon bones for their new drink but also their tears, this lead Abe to travel to the boiler to destroy it and escape. If Abe saved two hundred and fifty five or more Mudokons, he and the rest of them went back home and saw that Alf opened a Tea and rehab center. If Abe did not rescue the right amount of Mudokons, they would turn on him and hand him over to a Slig and the Brewmaster, only to possably die due to the machine being overpowered.
In both Oddworld: Adventures and Oddworld: Adventures 2, Abe went around the wildlife to possably train to save more Mudokons.
In Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Abe and a set of Mudokons went to look for Latamire Munch under the orders of the Almighty Raisen, only for the Mudokons to leave Abe to look for Munch on his own and so did. both Abe and Munch went to rescue the Fuzzels and asked the native Mudokons to help them fight against the Sligs.#, Abe than showed Munch to the Almighty Raisen and later went to rescue more Fuzzles as well as the Mudokons from the Sligs, with Abe possessing the Glukkon hireups to give money to Lulu. Depending on weither if the two has Pure Good Qurama, Abe possessed Lulu to by young Mudokons as well as Gabbier to give Munch to repopluate the Gabbit population, the two also destroyed almost all of the Glukkon's indistries. If the Qurama is mostly good, the same thing will happen, only the Glukkon's indestries was not destroyed. If the Qurama is bad, both Abe and Munch were not able to enter the ship to possess Lulu.
