Mermaid is a recurring antagonist in the Shantae series.

Shantae[]
The Mermaids first appeared in Shantae: Risky's Revenge, where they would fight against Shantae near areas with oceans near them. Shantae also gains a Mermaid form in the third labrynth she visits to reach the Hypno Baron. Shantae lost this form however after she had to fight against Nega-Shantae.
The Mermaids return in Shantae and the Pirates Curse, where they are seen on the second island and only the second island, ready to fight against Shantae once again.
The Mermaids return once again in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, where they would attack Shantae until Shantae when to see the Techno Baron and free the Giga Mermaid from his control. Shantae also regained the ability to turn back into a Mermaid and used this form for various underwater exploration.
The Mermaids however will still attack Risky Boots in the Pirate Queen's Quest, Bolo, Sky, Rottytops in Freinds Til' the End, and Shantae in the Costume packs as Techno Baron went to control the Giga Mermaid a few more times.

Trivia[]
- There are so far only two known Mermaids in the series, not counting the enemy types. Being: Shantae in her Mermaid Form and the Giga Mermaid.
- It should be noted that Shantae has diffrent powers in her Mermaid Form then to the Enemy-Types.
