Lightning Rod is a playable character in the Skylanders series, in the series he is a part of the Air Element.
Biography[]
Lightning Rod once lived in the majestic Cloud Kingdom, where his countless acts of heroism along with his winning smile and electric physique made him the most famous storm giant in the realm. He was a true celebrity, and the palace halls were littered with statues of the chiseled hero. But all the praise and admiration could never quite satisfy Rod, who yearned for something more. As luck would have it, he met an adventurous young dragon named Spyro, who told him fantastic stories of faraway places and dangerous adventures. Rod was spellbound, and he set off with Spyro to seek an audience with Eon to join the Skylanders.

Lightning Rod was one of the Core Skylanders that protected the Core of Light from Kaos and his minions in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, until one of his minions destroyed it which sent the Skylanders to Earth. This lead new Portal Masters to bring the Skylanders back to Skylands in hopes of rebuilding the Core of Light as well as defeat Kaos and his minions.
Lightning Rod gained new abilities in Skylanders Giants, while he was helping the Giants in their adventure to prevent Kaos from reawakening the Arkeyan army.
Lightning Rod appears in the now discontinued Skylanders: Universe, along with all of the other Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure and Giants. Roaming Skylands and finding treasures.
He also appears in Skylanders: Cloud Patrol, along with all of the other Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure, Giants and SWAP-Force.
Lightning Rod also appears in Skylanders: Battlegrounds.
Lighting Rod appears in Skylanders: Ring of Heroes, where he gains an Awakened Form.
Lighting Rod may also appear in Skylanders: SWAP-Force, Skylanders: Trap Team, Skylanders: SuperChargers, Skylanders: SuperChargers Racing and Skylanders: Imaginators, where he would help those various Skylander teams in their respected adventures.
