The Jedi are a group of Space Wizards using the Light side of the Force in the Star Wars series.

History

Star Wars

The Jedi were originally a part of a race known as the Juudai, however the race later expanded to others and creating the Force Users. Due to this, they later had their name shortened to the Jedi and had split factions. Over the years, the Jedi often fought against a rival faction known as the Sith and later gained a councle on Coricount.

In Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Manace, two Jedi known as Qui Gon Jinn and Obi-Won Kenobi was sent to meet the traid fedaration, only to later fight against the Battle Droids. The two Jedi then went to team up with Jar Jar Binks, the Queen of Nabu and her gaurds. They later find themselves on the desert planet known as Tatooien. Qui Gon saw a a boy known as Anakin Skywalker and so betted on his freedom after he won a race and brought him on to the ship to head to Corasunt. Their, Qui Gon showed the Jedi Councle Anakin and later went back to Nabu to team up with the Gungons to fight against the Battle Droids and to stop the Traid Federation. Qui Gon however died due to a sith by the name of Darth Maul.

In Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, two Jedi known as Obi-Won and Anakin were seen defending Queen Padme Armidalla and later went to chase down the Bounty Hunter that was trying to assasinate her. Obi-Won later went to study a poisonous dart, only to head to Camino and found out that a Jedi long dead ordered for a clone arm, leaving him to see the Clone Troopers. Obi-Won later went to follow the bounty hunter Jango Fett with both Anakin and Padme to later head off to rescue them but failed. Yoda, the leader of the councle went to visit the cloners and Mace Windu went with most of the Jedi to fight against the Battle Droids, Yoda later appeared with the Clone Troopers and later went to fight against the former Jedi Count Dooku after he defeated both Obi-Wan and Anakin. This coused the beginning of the Clone Wars.

The Jedi often fought in the Clone Wars with some defecting to the other side due to personal reasons.

In Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Both Obi-Wan and Anakin went to rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine from both Count Dooku and General Grievous, only to later crash the ship to Couricunt. Obi-Wan was later tasked to fight against General Greavious and Anakin was slowly losing faith in the Jedi, cousing Darth Sidious to turn him into Darth Vader and sent him to kill all of the Jedi. Obi-Wan later went to fight against Anakin, only to later leave a bit later went into hiding with Yoda.

Darth Vader went to fight against the remaining Jedi until he was the only one that was left of the Jedi order.

The Jedi first appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI A New Hope, where Obi-Wan went to help Luke Skywalker fight against the Galactic Empire. Obi-Wan later went to fight against Darth Vader but later died.

In Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Luke went to a swamp-like world, only to train under Yoda and later left to fight against Darth Vader. Vader told Luke after cutting off his hand that he was his father. Luke was later given a propetic arm.

In Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, Luke went to fight against Jabba the hutt in hopes to save his friends. Luke later went to see Yoda in his final hours and went back to the Rebellion to fight against the Storm Troopers and befriended the Ewoks. Luke went to the Death Star to bring his father back to the Light side and later saw Darth Sidious die, causing both Luke and a dying Vader to head to Endor for the party, burning Vader's body just before and seeing the ghosts of Obi-Wan, Yoda and Anakin Skywalker.

It is beleived that Luke Skywalker rebuilt the Jedi order with some of the Jedi falling to the Dark Side of the force in both the Legends and Disney timelines.
