The E-Series was created by Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in Sonic Adventure, to be the crew for his Egg Carrier. He made both E-101 Beta and E-102 Gamma battle each other, He hen sent them to locate a frog with a mystical tail. After, only one of them came back with the right frog, Eggman got rid of the two of them and reperposed E-105 Zeta to be the battery for the Egg Carrier. Eggman then tried to sent E-102 Gamma to fight against Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower, only to be stopped by Amy Rose. E-102 Gamma then went to look for the other E-100 Series models and destroy them, as a way to 'free' them, Gamma was destroyed by a remade E-101. There are also Egg Keepers, a class of E-100 models that the Doctor used as sucurity in his secret base, the Final Egg.
In Sonic Adventure 2, Dr. Eggman created more of the E-1000 Series models of robots to fight against Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. He may have also used them to train himself, Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog.
In Sonic Heroes, it was shown that Eggman made another E-100 model named E-123 Omega, the last of the E-100 Series, to look after Shadow the Hedgehog. Their have also been sightings of the E-2000 Models that were destroyed by the heroes.
In Sonic Battle, Gamma was recreated as Chaos Gamma and went to fight against Sonic and Shadow as well as E-121 Phi.
In Sonic Riders and Sonic Free Riders, some of the E-1000 Series robots went to race others on hoverboards.
In both Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rivals 2, the E-100 Series of robots were seen in some minigames.
Super Smash Bros.[]
Two of the E-100 Series models, being E-102 Gamma and E-123 Omega appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as a pair of stikers.
E-123 Omega also appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: World of Light, both Gamma and Omega appear once again as Spirit to control R.O.B. than went to help the other fighters.
LEGO Dimesions[]
In LEGO Dimensions, Sonic the Hedgehog encountered two of the E-100 Series robots, being E-113 and E-117. Where he went to trick the two to destroy each other.
