Tavish Finnegan DeGroot, more commonly known as the Demoman, is one of the playable characters in Team Fortress 2.

Tavish Finnegan DeGroot was born in Scottland, where he was looking to find various jobs and showed an interest in explosions. One job he had was on hallween where he went to clean the castle that Merasmus was living in, when he was cleaning his left eye was possesed bu the Bombanomicon and Merasmus took his left eye out.
In Team Fortress 2, the Demoman and eight other mercaneries went to fight in the long running gravel wars.
A BLU Demonman was seen drinking in Meet the Soldier, only to die by a rocket. It is belevied that the BLU Demoman's head was later taken by Soldier along with eight other heads from the BLU team.
In Meet the Pyro, a BLU Demoman was seen dying after a visit from the Pyro.
In Meet the Demoman, the Demoman was being interviewed about his work and showed what his day is like fighting against the BLU team.
In Meet the Medic, both Demoman and Scout were seen running from an army of BLU Soldiers. Medic later went to heal both of them and Ubercharged the Heavy to score a victory for the RED team.
In Meet the Sniper, Sniper went to shoot a BLU Heavy, only to also take out a BLU Demoman as well.
In the webcomic Meet the Director, the Demoman and the rest of the team murdered one of the Administator's television-holders and asked the Administrator some questions.
In Experation Date, after the RED team took a briefcase the Demoman went on a teleporter to look for some drinks and later came back, only to hear about the tumors that team may have been getting. The Demoman later went to help the Spy) teach Scout how to be gentlemen-like as well as have a fork go into his eyepatch once. After both the Medic and the Engineer told him, Spy and Soldier that they where not getting tumors and it was just bread mutating, he and the rest of the team later went to fight against a Giant Bread Monster with Miss Pauline. The Demoman possably later went back to his old buisniss afterwards.
At an unknown time the Demoman and the Soldier went to the gunshow and became friends, in the webcomic WAR! Comic, Miss Pauline went to meet the Demoman at his home and so gave him a magic sword known as the Eyelander to betray the Soldier. The Demoman decided to do so and so created the subwar known as Demoman vs. Soldier, although it is beleived that the two were just faking the war fo new weapons. Although it is unfortunate that the Demoman lost the war.
In the webcomic Scream Fortress: Bombinomicon, the Demoman told three children the story of how he lost his eye, only to see Merasmus once again. Soldier also claimed that the two were roommates, witch lead to the battle against Demoman's eye, the Monoculus.
In the webcomic A Fate Worse Than Chess, the Demoman was seen when Saxton Hale fired the Mercaneries and later rehired them to fight against the Machines. This both finished the Gravel Wars and began the Robot Wars.
In the webcomic The Shadow Boxers, the Demoman was with the rest of the team planning their defence against the Machines, only to later head home bit afterwards.
In the webcomic Death of a Salesbot, the Demoman and the rest of the team were felling a bit fed up with having too much money and later went to fight against the Machines once more. However the team later saw the Engineer and Pyro's head from the future, warning them about the metal crate and the Hat Wars. This only prolonged the Robot Wars a bit longer.
In the webcomic Gargoyales & Gravel, after a year or so went past, the Demoman was ready to fight against Merasmus' undead forces once again with the rest of ther Merceneries.
In the webcomic Ring of Fired, after Saxton Hale was fired, this also made the Merceneries go out of the job. Both Tavish and the Eyelander were watching television and being sculded by his mother, only for Ms. Pauline and Soldier to offer him his old job back.
In the webcomic Unhappy Returns, both the Demoman and Soldier went to Tuefort to look for both Spy and Scout. After Soldier went to chock Scout, this lead to all of of the merceneries to be hung by the mayor of Tuefort until Ms. Pauline appeared to releave the situation and told the group that the town is filled with lead poisoned idiots.
In the webcomic A Cold Day in Hell, the Demoman went to the airport with both Spy and Ms. Pauline.
The webcomic Catch-Up, showcased the events of the gravelwars and the third generation of merceneries, with the Demoman being one of them, now fighting in the Robot Wars.
In the webcomic Blood in the Water, both the Demoman and Ms. Pauline went to Sniper's home, only for Sniper to drug Demoman and tie the two up. The Demoman later woke up, only to be drugged again. The sleeping Demoman was later dragged to Ms. Pauline's car. The Demoman was later seen on a submerine with the rest of the merceneries and Zhanna, only to head to the lost city of New Zealand and was captured and imprioned by the Team Fortress Classic Merceneries.
In the webcomic Old Wounds, the Demoman was hilusinating after being given solid food and water, he later escaped with the rest of the team after murdering half of the TFC Merceneries to later fight agsinst the Vampiric robots.
In the webcomic The Naked and the Dead, an halusinating Demoman was deen destroying the vampiric robots. He later went back to normal to help the rest of the team fight against what was left of the Machines, although was harmed a bit. The Demoman was later being fixed up with the two talking about his eye, with the Medic telling him about the versions Monoculus that they fought against in the eight years and the Demoman later went back to the battlefield. The Demoman was later seen with the rest of the team during the TFC Heavy's last moments.

- The Demoman and the Engineer are the only classes to have their hole names reveiled.

- Both the Demoman and the Sniper share an acsent and possably some quotes.
- The Demoman makes a cameo appearance in the crossover poker game Poker Night at the Inventory, as the Jack of Spades, Hearts, Shovles and Diamonds.
