The Clone Troopers were created after Jango Fett was hired by Count Dooku to create an army for the Republic and so went to Camino to have himself cloned and went to train some of them in exchange for a unaffected clone known as Boba Fett.
The Clone Troopers made their first appearance in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, where Obi-Wan Kenobi went to see the operation and and later went to fight against Jango and Boba. Yoda later appeared to ask for the help of the Clone Troopers and went to fight against the Battle Droids to help the Republic. Yoda later stated that the Clone Wars just began.
The Clones went to help the Jedi fight against the Battle Droids and the CiS in multiple battles across the Clone Wars.
The Clones returned in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, where they continued to help the Jedi and went to assault the warship commanded by General Grievous. Commander Cody later gave Obi-Wan back his lightsaber after he dropped it. Darth Sidious later gave the order 66 to all of the Clone Troopers to turn against the Jedi and eliminated almost all of them. Two of the Clone Troopers later went to bring Darth Vader to a medical area to fix him.
The Clone Troopers either joined the empire, died out, joined the Rebel Alliance or went into retirement after the elimination of the Jedi.
The Clones may have been mentioned in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, by Luke Skywalker after hearing about his father from Ben Kenobi.
Expanded Universe[]
In Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Count Dooku hired Jango Fett to be a template to a Clone Army.
In Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume I, Clone Troopers were helping Jedi fight against armies of Battle Droids, although some died at the hands of members of the Conferarcy of Independant Systems, such as Asajj Ventress, Durge and General Grievous. A group of ARC Troopers, with their leader Captain Fordo was also seen helping Obi-Wan Kenobi.
