Light Gaia was reawaken in Sonic Unleashed, after Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik awoken Dark Gaia. He was later seen fearing Sonic the Hedgehog, in his werehog form, only to notice that he was being nice to him and also saw him turn back. He was given the nickname Chip after seeing him eat a sundae. Chip would continue to hand around Sonic and give him information.
Chip also appears in Sonic Runners and Sonic Runners Adventure, where he is a playable character.
