Ben "Big Band" Birdland is one of the playable characters in Skullgirls.

Ben Birdland was a policeman until his fellow officers beated him to near-death. He was later revived and turned into a cyborg thanks to Lab-8. Know known as Big Band, he went to help clean up the streets as he did back when he was a policeman and fight against the Medici. Big Band also went to help Peacock, only to later head back to Lab-8 and see it destroyed by a copy of timself and so fought against the copy. He later fight against her and later saw Ms. Fortune, only to fight against her until an old police friend of his appeared. Big Band later went to look for the Skull Heart, only to fight against Pinwheel and later sent her to remaining scientists of the now destroyed Lab-8. Big Band also went to fight against Double and Valentine, only to later help Peacock fight against Marie Korbel and later went to help rebuild what was left of Lab-8.
Big Band also appeared in Beowulf's storyline to fight against him but lost. He also appears in other storylines, being captured by Double.
