Alberto Malich was a wizard who founded the Unseen Universaty, only to work on a spell that will prevent his death, only to find out that he spell sent him to the door of Death himself. He later became Death's butler as he found out that he had at least ninty-one days of his life left.
Albert made hs first appearance in the book Mort, where he...
In the book Reaper Man, Albert was seen where Death found out that he has his own hour-glass. He also seen the Death of Rats.

Albert, Quoth and the Death of Rats in Soul Music.
In the book Soul Music, Albert was attending to his buttler duties, only to notice that Death went off out because he was feeling depressed. Albert later saw Susan, along with The Death of Rats and Quoth, Albert asked Susan some questions and then gave her the syth, only for Albert to head back to his duties. The Death of Rats and Qouth later appeared once again for Albert to put his coat on and went to look for Death, going to the Foren Legion and a Pub until a mugger took his Hour-Glass and went unconsious after the hour-glass was broken. Death later appeared to ask Albert about Susan, only to fall uncounsious again. It is belevied he went back to Death's castle after this.
